Job description

Smith Engineering PLLC and BEP Analytics LLC are consulting engineering and Building Automation System companies focused on energy reduction, infrastructure upgrades, and operations optimization of critical facilities. As we expand, we’re seeking a Building Automation Account Executive to develop new business opportunities and nurture client relationships in the New York and Tri-State area.

Position Overview:

As a Building Automation Account Executive, you will identify and secure new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, and promote our automation solutions. You will collaborate with the leadership teams at Smith Engineering and BEP Analytics to shape our sales strategy, while managing your accounts and driving revenue growth.

Location:

Remote (Tri-State Area - Philadelphia, New York, North Jersey, Central Jersey)

Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and develop new business opportunities within Southeast PA, NY City, and Central Jersey regions.
  2. Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their automation needs.
  3. Present and promote control systems and automation solutions to prospective customers.
  4. Prepare and deliver proposals, quotes, and contracts tailored to client requirements.
  5. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless project handoff and execution.
  6. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and opportunities.
  7. Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
  8. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
  1. 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in automation, controls, or industrial technology.
  2. Minimum of 5 years in B2B sales or account management in Building Technology Solutions (Building Management, Automation, Fire and Life Safety, Security).
  3. Strong understanding of control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation solutions.
  4. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  5. Willingness to travel within NY, North and Central New Jersey, and Philadelphia areas.
  6. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
  7. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  8. Ability to influence at various organizational levels.
  9. Engagement in industry-specific organizations.
  10. Self-motivated with independent work and effective time management skills.
