Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Builders Risk Underwriter in a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL, with additional office options in New York, Morristown, Boston, and Alpharetta. You will quarterback the sales and underwriting process, building strong relationships with agents and brokers to ensure Hartford is the carrier of choice.

You will manage the sales cycle from strategic planning to execution, develop cross-sell opportunities, and provide solid account stewardship across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of P&C commercial carrier underwriting experience;Builders Risk underwriting preferred.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Analytical thinker who can propose solutions and make recommendations.
• High energy self-starter with organizational and desk management skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%–35%.

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
