Job summary

JetBrains is seeking a Build and Release Engineer to strengthen our CI/CD and release processes for a large-scale IDE suite used by developers worldwide.

You will develop and maintain infrastructure, write code in Java or Kotlin, and streamline workflows with Bazel/Gradle/Maven while leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer and Ansible. Strong Linux, scripting, and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on development in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with Bazel, Gradle, or Maven.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with Linux fundamentals and shell scripting.
• Strong understanding of algorithms in code.
• Proven teamwork and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain infrastructure that supports fast test runs, installer builds, releases.
• Design and review code in Java or Kotlin for long-term maintainability.
• Work with build systems to streamline development workflows.
• Operate and extend DevOps tooling across cloud providers and infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer, Ansible).
• Handle Linux fundamentals and shell scripting for routine system administration.
• Collaborate with multiple teams and CI/CD tooling across the engineering org.
