Job summary

JetBrains is seeking a Release Engineer to join our infrastructure team responsible for building and maintaining the delivery pipeline behind a large monorepo with hundreds of contributors and automated tests. You will own CI/CD processes, tooling, and release governance to ensure predictable, repeatable, and stress-free releases for engineering teams.

Responsibilities include designing pipelines, managing branching and hotfixes, diagnosing failures, automating tasks, and leading post-incident

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
• Fluency in Kotlin or Java is required.
• Practical experience with Gradle or similar build systems.
• Comfort in Linux environments with shell scripting.
• Experience using YouTrack or Jira for issue tracking.
• Professional written and spoken English with cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable releases.
• Manage branching strategies, code freezes, and hotfix releases across products.
• Diagnose pipeline failures and remove bottlenecks to prevent disruptions.
• Automate release tasks and improve issue-tracking workflows.
• Gather requirements from development teams and translate pain points into tooling.
• Lead post-incident retrospectives and communicate process changes to stakeholders.
