Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Software Engineer to advance on-demand, batteries-protected IDE environments by integrating JetBrains IDEs with our inner remote workspace. You will build tooling and libraries, and partner with Platform teams to surface relevant context in the IDE.

Qualifications

• Experience developing tooling for engineers (IDEs, CLIs, web UIs).
• Product-centric mindset and ability to understand customer needs.
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills to design scalable architectures.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity; this is a green-field opportunity.
• Excellent communication abilities to influence teams without a strict top-down mandate.
• Proficient in a JVM language (Java, Kotlin) or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Preferred: experience writing plugins for JetBrains IDEs or extensions for VSCode.

Responsibilities

• Integrate IntelliJ and other JetBrains IDEs with the inner remote workspace product.
• Construct tooling, reusable libraries, and methods that help teams write, test, and distribute IDE plugins.
• Work with Platform groups to bring context and controls into the IDE, including linking to API docs and style guidance.
• Establish engagement versioning with customers and Platform partners.
