JetBrains is seeking a Build and Release Engineer to strengthen our CI/CD and release processes for a large-scale IDE suite used by developers worldwide.

You will develop and maintain infrastructure, write code in Java or Kotlin, and streamline workflows with Bazel/Gradle/Maven while leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer and Ansible. Strong Linux, scripting, and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

Role overview

Strengthen the build and release infrastructure behind a large-scale suite of integrated development environments used by hundreds of thousands of developers worldwide. The role focuses on enabling fast, reliable test execution, installer builds, and product releases for a codebase spanning dozens of gigabytes and many contributing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain infrastructure that supports quick and easy test runs, installer builds, product releases, and related release engineering tasks.
• Design, write, and review code primarily in Java or Kotlin, with an emphasis on readability and long-term maintainability.
• Work with build systems such as Bazel, Gradle, or Maven to streamline development workflows.
• Operate and extend DevOps tooling across cloud and infrastructure providers, including AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer, and Ansible.
• Handle Linux fundamentals and shell scripting, including basic system administration tasks.
• Collaborate closely with other teams and contribute to internal collaboration, source control, and CI/CD tooling used by the wider engineering organization.

Requirements
