Job summary

Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is seeking a full-time Food and Beverage worker for Black Bear Casino Resort's onsite buffet. Duties include keeping the buffet clean, replenishing food, preparing soups, salads, gravies, desserts, and casseroles using standard recipes.

The role requires cooking experience, food-handler certification (within 3 months if not already), the ability to work under pressure, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• No Driver’s License Required.
• Previous training or experience as a cook is preferred.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Food handler's certification is required; must obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Knowledge of cleanliness and sanitation standards for food serving is required.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• Ability to follow directions from supervisors.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the buffet clean and free of food debris.
• Helps replenish the food on the buffet.
• Measures ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
• Puts away food in coolers, freezer and storeroom.
• Tastes and tests foods to ensure proper cooking.
• Carves meats and portions food for service in the buffet.
• Cleans and prepares vegetables and fruits.
• Adheres to quality standards and responds to guest requests.
• Monitors food temperatures throughout the shift.
• Keeps station clean and organized and follows management directions.
