Job summary

Kewadin Casinos is seeking a Cook I to prepare and cook a wide range of food items including soups, sauces, hot entrees, pasta, and vegetables in a high-volume buffet environment. Under the direction of the General Manager, you will ensure food is prepared timely, presented well, and served with attentive, cheerful customer service to internal and external guests.

Strong sanitation standards, teamwork, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with previous food and beverage preparation in a high-volume operation is preferred.
• Sanitation Certificate is required within 6 months of hire; training will be provided.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent and attractive product presentation through portion control, garnishes, and recipe standards.
• Consult with management on the daily prep list and prep work for the day and following shift.
• Clean and restock workstation for the following shift.
• Prepare food items such as sauces and cutting fruit as needed.
• Take temperatures hourly and log information.
• Carve a variety of roasted meat for the buffet.
• Keep buffet neat, clean, and stocked; ensure food freshness.
• Inform management of prep status and issues as they arise.
