Job summary

AARP is seeking a Budgeting Operations Analyst to support budgeting, procurement, and financial processes across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive budgeting initiatives and manage financial transactions and reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field, 3 years of budgeting/forecasting experience, and strong Excel proficiency. Hybrid work environment with US-based remote days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
• 3 years of experience with complex budgeting and forecasting.
• Demonstrated success in managing budgets to within a 3 percent variability.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
• Effective at managing multiple priorities, self-motivated, forward-thinking, and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Supports internal clients on a variety of group- or organization-wide projects and acts as central contact for business processes across the department.
• Manages procure-to-pay processes, invoicing, budgets, and reports; tracks lobbying information.
• Researches, resolves issues for internal/external customers; uses databases to track responses and recommends improvements.
• Analyzes current processes and develops improvement initiatives; maintains documentation and ensures policy compliance.
• Generates ad-hoc and scheduled reports; coordinates financial, procurement, and contract management activities across projects.
• Manages financial functions such as invoice coding, approval, and expense reconciliation.
• Coordinates project management, metrics, and operations with department leads.
• Identifies opportunities to streamline workflows and improve process consistency.
