Syracuse University’s College of Law is seeking a Business Support Associate to perform monthly budget analyses and reconciliations. The role supports the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration, Budget Manager, and program administrators with reporting on income, expenses, and endowments.

The position emphasizes strong communication, data analysis, and cross-team collaboration to improve financial procedures and ensure accuracy across programs and grants.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
• Solid understanding of financial systems and procedures in a university setting; PeopleSoft Financials strongly preferred.
• Strong and proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong interest in creating and improving procedures and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provides monthly budget analyses and reports for income and expenses for college leadership and program administrators.
• Prepares monthly reconciliations including student org activity, gift/endowment balances, and sponsored award tracking.
• Assists with pre-auditing financial transactions to ensure funds are available and chart strings are correct.
• Supports grant/proposal budgeting and payroll-related functions for sponsored positions and student employees.
