Job summary

New York University Law seeks a financial analyst to monitor, analyze, and report on the Law School's departments and centers. You will serve as the primary Finance Office contact for budget matters and support annual budgets, forecasts, and projections with variance analysis and ad hoc Excel modeling.

Responsibilities include monitoring budget areas, assisting with reconciliations, and preparing reports for departmental leadership and Finance executives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
  • Master's degree MBA/MPA or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in higher education, non-profit, or complex organizations is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills; ability to present findings clearly.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on financial activity for Law School units.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial projections including variance analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports for departmental management and Finance leadership.
  • Support year-end activities and reconciliations.
