FloridaCommerce seeks a professional Finance Analyst to support the Division of Workforce Services in Tallahassee. The role involves fiscal analysis, budget coding, and coordination of grant allocations, collaborating with program managers and leadership.

You will prepare monthly financial reports, forecast budgets, and advise on staffing priorities while ensuring compliance with state funding sources and grant requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State of Florida Procurement System (MyFloridaMarketPlace).
• Knowledge of Florida Accounting Information Resource.
• Knowledge of State budgeting and legislative processes.
• Knowledge of federal and state fiscal policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint for data work and presentations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze data. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports based on actual and projected expenditures.
• Assign, maintain, and validate budget codes for multiple program areas to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Ensure budget codes align with approved funding sources, grant requirements, and organizational accounting standards.
• Collaborate with program managers, finance staff, and leadership to understand program needs and apply appropriate budget codes.
• Respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to incorrect, missing, or outdated budget codes.
• Develop and maintain budget projections and financial forecasts based on historical data and expenditures.
• Analyze spending trends to project future budget needs and staffing priorities.
• Coordinate with the FloridaCommerce Office of Financial Management on grant and budget allocations.
• Prepare budget amendment requests and liaise with the department’s budget office.
• Monitor expenditures against budget authority and grants; report variances.
• Assist divisions with Division operating and grant budgets.
