Job summary

Michigan Farm Bureau is seeking an accounting professional to support the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies by coordinating and completing annual expense budgets and performing variance analyses. The role includes supervising aspects of accounts payable, tax reporting for Personal Property, and maintaining vendor contracts.

The position requires 1–3 years of experience, aBachelor's degree in accounting or related field, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.
• One to three years of experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products is required.
• Insurance accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience with Great Plains and Solver Reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting functions for Farm Bureau Insurance Companies and assist in budgeting completion.
• Coordinate preparation of expense budgets and schedule meetings to ensure timely completion.
• Prepare management reports and provide in-depth budget analysis and presentations for boards and executives.
• Run monthly depreciation expense in Great Plains and account for asset disposals and acquisitions.
• Analyze expense variance issues and propose accounting and budgeting solutions.
