Job summary

Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies seeks an experienced Farm and Agribusiness Underwriter to underwrite accounts with expertise in coverage forms and endorsements. You will act as a peer-leader within the Underwriting Department and provide guidance to Farm Bureau Insurance agents and other underwriters.

Responsibilities include risk evaluation, rating, and premium development, along with monitoring accounts through inspections and claims data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Seven years of Farm and Agribusiness underwriting experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• API or AU designation required.
• Southern Farm Bureau Tech Underwriting Training and AAIC Ag Advisor required.
• CPCU certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Farm and Agribusiness lines of insurance with an account focus.
• Provide expert underwriting guidance to Farm Bureau Insurance agents and peers.
• Evaluate risks, classify and rate risks, and develop premiums.
• Monitor results through inspections, claims information, renewal surveys, and communications with agents.
