Job summary

Adult Correction is seeking an Accounting Technician II to monitor expenditures and manage fiscal transactions at Eastern Correctional Institution. The role maintains ledgers, tracks purchases, and supports budget reconciliation with institutional staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in accounting work.
• Experience with general ledger, accounts payable, and budget tracking is preferred.
• Strong communication and document management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control institutional expenditures and assist Administrative Officer III with fiscal transactions.
• Maintain the general ledger, track purchase orders, requisitions, and contracts.
• Reconcile and monitor budgets; interact with staff and management for spending and reporting.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best prices and terms for the State.
• Produce comparative and statistical information for budgeting and management decisions.

Education

Associate’s degree in Accounting

Three years accounting experience

High school diploma or GED + three years accounting experience
