Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks an Accounting Technician II to monitor institutional expenditures and process fiscal transactions at Eastern Correctional Institution in Maury, NC.

Candidates should have an associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience; strong Excel and Word skills; familiarity with E-Procurement and NCAS; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting plus 1 year of accounting experience; or High school diploma + 3 years accounting experience.
• Knowledge of Word and Excel for daily accounting tasks.
• Familiarity with E-Procurement, NCAS or equivalent accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control institutional expenditures and assist in fiscal transactions.
• Reconcile budgets and maintain general ledger information.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best prices and terms.
