Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in New Jersey is seeking a Bucket Operator to join our line clearance crew. You will plan, direct, and perform bucket work near energized lines, ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires physical stamina, willingness to join the local union, and ability to work outdoors in all weather. Training provided; pre-employment checks may apply. High school or equivalent preferred; experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be familiar with the electrical hazard.
• Possesses working knowledge and can identify tree and shrub species.
• Work demands physical energy, twisting, some lifting ability, and hand-to-eye coordination.
• Must be willing to join local union and pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, directs, checks, and coordinates work.
• Obtains permission to trim/remove trees on property and coordinates access with customers.
• Promotes good customer and public relations through safe work and professional conduct.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
• Safeguards employees and the public from hazards in the work area.
• Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc.
• Responsible for quality/quantity of production and following safety rules.
• Operates and services equipment such as buckets, chippers, and sprayers.
• Operates bucket near energized lines to remove branches.
• Performs tree and bucket rescue.
• Uses hand tools (axes, saws, pruners, etc.).
• Cleans up and disposes debris.
• Trains new personnel.
