We are currently seeking a BSA/AML Surveillance Analyst to join our team. This full-time remote position is based in the Salt Lake City, Utah; Phoenix, Arizona; or Las Vegas, Nevada area.
  1. Responsible for analyzing alerted client activity for possible suspicious activity related to illegal activities such as money laundering, terrorist financing, or fraud.
  2. Utilizes multiple sources to determine if alerted activity is not suspicious or warrants further investigation.
  3. Present a logical, supported conclusion for clearing activity as not suspicious.
  4. Understand and apply knowledge of BSA/AML typologies, identifying "red flags" and current trends in suspicious activity during reviews.
  5. Communicate with branches to gather additional client information to assess alerts.
  6. Write communications as necessary to close alerts, clearly supporting the conclusion.
  7. Play a primary role in identifying suspicious or unusual customer account activity.
  8. Identify unusual customer transactions through automated and manual alerts.
  9. Perform assessments of alerts to resolve them if no suspicious activity is found or determine if further investigation is needed.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, Accounting, Finance, or related fields, or equivalent experience, with 1+ years in banking, BSA/AML compliance, or related areas. A combination of education and experience may suffice.
  2. Some experience with suspicious activity related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud is preferred.
  3. Basic knowledge of department procedures and BSA/AML compliance as it applies to suspicious activity.
  4. Strong analytical, customer service, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Organized, detail-oriented, and accurate in responsibilities.
  6. Ability to meet performance expectations, including SLAs and QA scores.
  7. Understanding of AML/BSA regulatory processes and bank operations related to funds flow.
  8. Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
  9. Good writing skills to translate complex situations into clear narratives.
  10. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  11. Proficiency in PC skills, especially MS Excel and Word.
  12. Knowledge of bank operations is preferred.

This position offers a salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
