Job summary

Alameda Baking Company is seeking a reliable Line Cook to join our café kitchen team in Alameda, CA. You will prepare breakfast and brunch items in a fast-paced, collaborative setting, following established recipes and portion standards.

Ideal candidates are 18+, legally authorized to work in the US, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and available holidays/weekends. We offer Kaiser health coverage, a 401K, and an inclusive bilingual environment to support your growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older and legally allowed to work in the United States.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts.
• Open availability, including holidays and weekends.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen tools.
• Able to follow written recipes and prep lists with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items — sandwiches, soups, salads, and brunch dishes — following Firebrand recipes and portion standards
• Execute daily prep tasks efficiently: slicing, mixing, labeling, and station setup, while minimizing waste
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation in strict compliance with California Health Code and HACCP protocols
• Safely operate kitchen equipment (pizza ovens, slicers, fryers, mixers) with proper training and PPE
• Follow food storage best practices: FIFO rotation, labeling, and allergen awareness
• Communicate clearly with your team using Slack for shift updates, prep lists, and handoffs
• Bring energy and professionalism during busy service — we move fast and support each other
