Job summary

WSP USA is seeking Bus Rapid Transit Project Engineers for our National BRT Team, supporting projects in South Florida, Washington DC, and Boston. You will design BRT components from concept through construction and provide technical and project management support.

You will work with transit agencies, demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, and have opportunities to travel and advance within a leading engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline (roadway, site design, traffic engineer).
• P.E. License with 7 to 15 years of experience in Bus Rapid Transit projects or equivalent.
• Experience working with transit agencies and department of transportation.
• Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
• 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) preferred.
• Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Responsibilities

• Act as a designer on Bus Rapid Transit projects at all phases, from concept to construction.
• Provide technical support and Project Management on projects or tasks with opportunity to grow, including contract negotiation and managing to a scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support larger projects as a Deputy Project Manager, Task Manager, Segment Manager or discipline expert.
• Aid local offices pursuing or delivering transit projects with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel.
• Demonstrate your skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication.
• Assist in growing the business by building relationships, writing marketing proposals and providing other business development support.
• Management of technical staff.
