Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a seasoned Engineer, Brownfield Projects I&C, to support long-term operations at the Rio Grande LNG facility near Brownsville, Texas. You will lead instrumentation and controls activities on FEED/EPCC projects, coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure safety, schedule and budget compliance.

You bring 15+ years in oil and gas, with 10+ years as a Project Engineer (Brownfield/Greenfield) and a PE license or eligibility; strong planning, contract management

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering.
• 5+ years as Brownfield Projects Engineer in oil and gas with SIMOPS exposure.
• Professional Engineering License or eligibility for registration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure FEED/EPCC work by contractors is safe, on time and on budget.
• Coordinate instrumentation, controls and telecoms activities across teams.
• Review technical proposals and responses, and drive action closure.
• Support HSE orientation for on-site contractor personnel.
• Develop and monitor project KPIs (HSE, schedule, cost, quality).
• Prepare and issue TDRs/NCRs, participate in reviews (HAZID/HAZOP/SIL).
• Oversee commissioning readiness and handover of facilities to NEXTDECADE.
