Job summary

Gersh Autism in Bronx, NY is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) to join our team. You will work directly with students with autism, supporting academic and behavioral goals in a year-round school program.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs and BIPs, providing one-on-one and small group support, data collection, and collaboration with teachers and behavior specialists. A high school diploma is required; RBT certification progress supported.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and flexible in various situations.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within a set time frame.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, promoting academic, social, and behavioral growth.
• Help students with daily tasks including communication, social interaction, and self-management skills.
• Collaborate with the teaching team and behavior specialists to create a structured learning environment.
• Collect and document data on student performance and progress toward goals.
