Barclays Center is seeking a Director of Broadcast Engineering to lead the reliability and development of control room and production infrastructure. You will manage the engineering team, set technical standards, and align staffing, maintenance, and capital planning with event needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of broadcast engineering or comparable live production infrastructure experience.
• Experience supervising technical staff and leading engineering projects and maintenance programs.
• Proficiency with SMPTE ST 2110 systems, PTP, IP networking, and broadcast infrastructure.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into practical engineering plans and documentation.
• Budget development, vendor management, and project coordination experience.
• Strong communication under live event pressure and collaboration with multiple teams.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Responsabilités

• Lead engineering teams including Video and Audio engineering; coach and evaluate staff.
• Plan event coverage, allocate part-time staff, and coordinate union crews and contractors.
• Coordinate with Production, IT, and visiting broadcasts to translate show requirements into engineering plans and escalation paths.
• Maintain NBA/WNBA requirements and related game-day infrastructure and systems.
• Own broadcast system performance and oversee SMPTE ST 2110 environment and associated equipment.
• Develop preventive maintenance, monitoring, backups, and redundancy testing; manage incidents and recovery.
• Provide on-call support for service restoration and incident response; ensure root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee projects, vendors, and budgets; manage installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, and handover.
• Maintain engineering standards through documentation, inventory, access, and configuration controls.
• Coordinate broadcast network changes with IT and update drawings and procedures.
