Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute is seeking an energetic and compassionate Full-Time Activities Assistant to create engaging programs for residents. You will plan, lead, and customize activities that support physical, emotional, and social well-being, while coordinating with the Activities Director and staff.

Ideal candidates bring a positive attitude, strong communication, and a willingness to adapt activities for diverse resident needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in skilled nursing or long-term-care preferred.
• Creative, enthusiastic, patient, and compassionate.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting activities for individuals and groups.
• Lead games, crafts, music, social events, and other engaging activities.
• Develop the monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Encourage participation in group and self-directed activities and provide needed materials.
• Plan resident outings and arrange transportation for appointments and discharges.
• Support assessments, activity care plans, and quarterly progress notes as assigned.
• Maintain positive relationships with residents and families.
• Follow policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
