Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute is seeking an energetic Activities Assistant to support residents’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. You will help plan engaging programs, lead group activities, and assist with outings, while maintaining records and communications with staff.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, compassion for seniors, and reliable attendance. Pay starts between $18.00–$18.43/hour, based on experience, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term-care preferred.
• Creativity and patience when working with seniors.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed.
• Ability to read policies, procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting activities for residents.
• Lead games, crafts, music, social events and other programs.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Encourage participation in group and self-directed activities.
• Support resident assessments and care plans as assigned.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized activity spaces.
• Communicate with staff, families, and regulatory representatives.
• Assist with outings and transportation as needed.
