Job summary

CEC seeks a Civil/Structural Project Engineer with bridge and transportation specialization to lead design and delivery from concept through construction. You will work with engineers, designers, technicians, clients, and agency partners to provide technical guidance, manage priorities, and develop practical solutions.

You will mentor team members, expand the Transportation Practice in OK/TX, build client relationships, and support project invoicing and coordination with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• Three or more years of progressive engineering experience.
• PE and SE licenses required; must obtain in OK/TX/AR within six months if not licensed there already.

Responsibilities

• Serves as project engineer with autonomy for project-related tasks and client contact; may manage multiple projects.
• Develops feasible engineering design alternatives; performs structural calculations, modeling, analysis, and design.
• Uses software to create drawings and design layouts for bridges (decks, beams, bearings, piers, abutments).
• Prepares contract documents, technical reports, plans, specs, cost estimates, and permitting; maintains records.
• Performs field visits to inspect structures and identify repairs.
• Ensures QC/QA procedures; maintains design standards.
• Reviews shop drawings and RFIs; coordinates with engineers, designers, and technicians.
