Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking 3 Bridges & Structures engineers to support California projects from design through construction. Responsibilities include coordinating structural solutions meeting agency requirements and constructability across Northern, Central, and Southern California regions.

Requirements include 3+ years in bridge/structural engineering, ABET-accredited degree, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. EIT preferred; PE licensure prioritized if obtained.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bridge/structural engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
• EIT certification preferred; PE licensure prioritized if obtained.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate bridge and transportation structures including highways, overpasses, retaining walls, culverts and related elements.
• Prepare structural design plans, calculations and specifications per Caltrans, AASHTO, local codes and seismic standards.
• Develop structural analysis and load rating calculations for new and existing bridges; support rehab and retrofit projects.
• Design foundations and substructures (piles, drilled shafts, footings, abutments, piers) considering geotechnical/seismic requirements.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, engineer's estimates and construction cost evaluations for bridge projects.
• Coordinate with roadway, geotechnical, drainage, utility and construction teams to ensure integrated designs.
