BKF Engineers in California is seeking three Bridges & Structures engineers to support transportation projects across Northern, Central, and Southern California. You will design and coordinate bridge and transportation structures from design through construction, ensuring conformance with agency requirements and seismic standards.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 3+ years of bridge and structural engineering experience
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; licensure prioritized
• Strong written and verbal communication; collaboration with internal and external teams

Responsibilities

• Design and coordination of bridge and structural engineering projects including bridges, overpasses, retaining walls, culverts and other transportation structures
• Prepare structural design plans, details, calculations, and specifications per Caltrans, AASHTO and seismic standards
• Develop structural analysis and load-rating calculations for new and existing bridges
• Design foundations and substructures considering geotechnical and seismic requirements
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, estimates and construction cost evaluations
• Coordinate with roadway, geotechnical, drainage, utility and construction teams
• Prepare technical reports, assessments, and feasibility studies to support projects
• Apply codes and permitting requirements for bridge and structural design
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for conformance
• Collaborate with transportation agencies, contractors, and consultants throughout planning to construction
