Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in the New Haven or Hartford, CT offices seeks a licensed structural engineer to contribute to large bridge projects across North America.

You will join a dynamic structures team and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with clients to deliver on time and on budget. The role requires CT PE, proficiency with STAAD/CSI/SAP and AutoCAD/Open Bridge Modeler, and knowledge of AASHTO, ASCE, AISC and ACI standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Connecticut required.
• 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis of bridges and transportation structures.
• Proficiency in STAAD, CSI, SAP, and AASHTOWare BrR.
• Ability to develop drawings using AutoCAD and Open Bridge Modeler; CTDOT Digital Design Environment.
• Understanding of AASHTO, ASCE, AISC and ACI standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and preparation of contract documents for new bridges and rehabilitation of existing bridges.
• Perform load rating analysis of existing bridges.
• Perform design calculations, drawings, and details for bridge design projects.
• Mentor and monitor junior structural engineers.
• Review shop drawings, coordinate with design team, conduct site visits and address field issues.
• Assist with project management including budget tracking and staffing, coordinating quality reviews, and ensuring Health, Safety, Security and Environment standards.
• Coordinate with clients to deliver projects on time and on budget.
