Job summary

Stantec's Laurel, MD team seeks a Structural Engineer to support bridge design and inspection for transportation projects. You will prepare calculations, CAD drafts, and cost estimates, while reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs to aid roadway and civil design efforts.

Requires MD PE license or ability to obtain, plus 5 years of related experience. Telecommuting up to 3 days weekly is possible; strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and FEA tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience OR 3+ years with master's.
• Experience with AASHTO LRFD, bridge FEA, and bridge inspection tooling.
• Maryland PE license or ability to obtain one; valid MD driver license.

Responsibilities

• Support bridge design and inspection projects for DOT and municipalities.
• Prepare design calculations, CAD drafts, and cost estimates.
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs; develop provisions and specs.
• Inspect bridges and prepare reports; support roadway and civil designs.
• Telecommuting up to 3 days per week as authorized.
