Job summary

AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is seeking a Construction Inspector for Bridges and Roadways to join our inspection team supporting DOT projects in New Jersey. The role focuses on field oversight, reporting, and ensuring compliance with contract documents.

You will read plans, perform material testing, prepare daily reports, and collaborate with project teams. Travel to multiple sites is required, and you will contribute to delivering high-quality infrastructure inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in construction materials, methods, and procedures.
• 2+ years of field inspection in civil, highway or related engineering.
• Experience with NJ DOT, NJTA, or NJ Transit projects required.
• Experience with Bridge or Roadway construction inspection preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• NETTCP HMA/CI/S&A and/or ACI certification, NICET II-IV certification, PE license or CCM/CMIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Facilitate the project team and ensure the client has the inspection reports they need.
• Build relationships with the client and oversee the construction of projects.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Perform quantity computations.
• Perform material sampling and testing.
• Maintain field records.
