Job summary

AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) seeks an Inspector to join our Construction Engineering Inspection team, supporting DOT projects across New Jersey.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with 3+ years of field inspection experience and the ability to work independently or with a team in a fast-paced consulting environment. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans, preparing daily reports, performing material sampling, and maintaining field records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in construction materials, methods, and procedures.
• 2+ years of field inspection experience in civil, highway or related engineering and survey fields.
• Experience with NJ DOT, NJTA, or NJ Transit projects is required.
• Experience with Bridge or Roadway construction inspection.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related, preferred.
• NETTCP HMA/CI/S&A and/or ACI certification, NICET II-IV certification, Professional Engineering License or CCM/CMIT Certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Facilitate the project team and ensure the client has the inspection reports they need.
• Build relationships with the client and oversee the construction of projects
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Perform quantity computations.
• Perform material sampling and testing; Maintain field records.
