Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. is seeking a civil engineer with 5–10 years of bridge, culvert, and retaining wall design experience.

The role involves leading design work, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and preparing contract plans and estimates. The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree and an Engineer-in-Training certification, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5–10 years’ experience in bridge, culvert and retaining wall design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Written and communication skills.
• Engineer-in-training certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work on a project.
• Perform or check design computations.
• Design projects per client specs using design software and drawing tools.
• Prepare and compile contract plans, specs and estimates.
• Attend meetings with clients and assist taking meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and ensure integration into the design.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to Design Engineers.
