This role involves producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. You will collaborate with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery, applying engineering techniques and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity. Your technical expertise will help address design issues, working closely with the project manager, clients, and team members to meet project schedules. You will develop conceptual and detailed designs using current tools, software, and technical resources. The role may include mentoring junior engineers and contributing to successful project delivery across diverse projects.

What You'll Do:

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Assist in marketing efforts, including proposal development.
• Develop scope of work and effort estimates for projects within your discipline.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the technical work of the project team, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Coordinate technical aspects with clients and partners at the staff level.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience designing bridges, retaining walls, and other structures on transportation projects in the New Jersey office.
• Ability to develop project design criteria, calculations, details, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing design drawings and specifications.
• Skills in cost and quality control within your discipline.
• Problem-solving skills for design and field engineering challenges, with effective schedule coordination.
• Ability to lead design efforts during planning and design phases.

What We Prefer:

• Experience in transportation structure design, especially bridges.
• Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and Seismic Guide Specifications.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
