This role involves producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. You will consult with the project manager on research, development, calculations, design, and delivery, applying engineering techniques and design criteria to projects of varying complexity. Use your technical expertise to resolve design issues, collaborate with clients, and ensure tasks meet project schedules. Develop conceptual and detailed designs using current tools and software. You may mentor junior staff and contribute to successful project delivery across diverse projects.

What You'll Do:

1. Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
2. Assist in marketing efforts, including proposal development.
3. Develop scope of work and effort estimates for projects within your discipline.
4. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the technical work of the project team, providing guidance and mentorship.
5. Coordinate technical aspects with clients and team partners at the staff level.
6. Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or
• PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience designing bridges, retaining walls, and other structures for transportation projects in the New Jersey office.
• Ability to develop project design criteria, calculations, details, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing design drawings and specifications.
• Skills in cost and quality control within your discipline.
• Problem-solving skills for design and field engineering issues, and schedule coordination.
• Ability to lead a design team to ensure comprehensive and accurate work.
• Experience serving as a task lead during planning and design phases.

What We Prefer:

• Experience in bridge and transportation structure design.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO Seismic Guide Specifications.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
