Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Supervisor II (NS) to lead the Division Bridge Program, overseeing the maintenance, preservation, rehabilitation, and replacement of all bridges and pipes greater than 48 inches in diameter within Division 1's 14 counties, and to serve as liaison across units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and four years of progressively responsible experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
• May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor management strategies to achieve desired performance level for the bridge and structure inventory.
• Be a specialized expert in bridge maintenance, preservation, rehabilitation, design and construction.
• Recommend allocation and management of resources (funding, equipment and staff) for maintenance, preservation, rehabilitation and replacement of bridges and structures.
• Act as the single point of contact for the division for resolution of TIP and Force Account Bridge and structure replacement/ rehabilitation issues.
