The City of New York’s Department of Transportation is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to join the Bridge Management Section in Manhattan. You will assist in scoping rehab and replacement projects, review inspection reports, prepare cost estimates, and support capital planning and budget reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with 1 year of civil engineering experience; or
• Bachelor’s in civil engineering technology with 3 years of civil engineering experience; or
• Bachelor’s plus Master’s in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying bridge rehab, replacement, and component rehab needs.
• Develop project scoping documents, cost estimates, and budget reports.
• Review bridge inspection reports, inventory data, and condition ratings to prioritize projects.
