Job summary

MoDOT in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Worker to perform routine and emergency repairs on bridges in the state highway system under general supervision.

You will conduct concrete and structural repairs, paint and seal bridge components, set up traffic control, operate vehicles to move materials, and participate in preventative maintenance. This role requires physical stamina, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass CDL-related tests and a medical-physical examination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pass the CDL written exam with tanker endorsement; no air brake restrictions (Class B) and interstate status within 60 days of hire.
• Annual cardiopulmonary function test; respirator training and fit test every six months.
• Complete a work simulation and a medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency bridge repairs on state highways.
• Paints and seals bridge components using scaffolding and spray equipment.
• Assists in preventative maintenance of bridges in the state system.
• Sets up traffic control devices and flags traffic in work zones.
• Operates vehicles and equipment to transport materials and crew to job sites.
