Job summary

MoDOT is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Worker at Hampton Bridge, 6138 Wilson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139, to perform routine and emergency repairs on bridges within the state highway system under general supervision.

You will repair concrete and structural steel, paint and seal bridge caps, set up traffic controls, and operate vehicles to move materials to job sites. MoDOT offers a strong benefits package, including a defined pension and generous leave.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CDL exam with tanker endorsement and appropriate class, EI/NI status within 60 days of hire.
• Pass CP function test yearly and respirator fit tests every six months.
• Complete work simulation and medical-physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency bridge repairs (concrete, structural steel) and deck work.
• Paints structural steel bridges and applies protective coatings.
• Assists in preventative maintenance on bridges in the state highway system.
• Sets up traffic control devices and flags routes in work zones.
• Operates vehicles to transport materials and crews; performs vehicle maintenance.
