Job summary

MoDOT's Willow Springs team is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Worker to perform routine and emergency repairs on bridges in the state highway system under general supervision. MoDOT will place candidates at entry, intermediate, or senior levels based on skills, with CAREER-LADDER opportunities for advancement.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid CDL with tanker endorsement, and the ability to pass fitness and respirator tests.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED/HiSET.
Valid driver’s license.
CDL Class B with tanker endorsement and interstate status required within 60 days of hire.
Must pass yearly cardiopulmonary function test and respirator fit tests.

Responsibilities

Performs routine and emergency repairs to bridges, including concrete bridge repairs and structural steel repairs, painting and sealing bridge caps, and deck repair/replacement.
Paints structural steel bridges using scaffolding, etc., and prepares surfaces for painting.
Assists in preventative maintenance on bridges in the state highway system.
Sets up traffic control devices and flags within work zones.
Operates vehicles and equipment to transport materials and crew to job sites; performs basic vehicle maintenance.
