Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Worker to perform routine and emergency bridge repairs, including concrete and steel work, paints, and deck replacement. Work is conducted at the Bridge Maintenance Facility in Hannibal or Macon with supervision and safety-focused guidelines.

The role offers progression to career-ladder levels based on skills and performance, and requires CDL-related qualifications and medical clearances.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET completed.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pass CDL written test and driving test with tanker endorsement within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and emergency repairs to bridges and related structures.
• Paints and seals bridge components and performs deck repair as needed.
• Assist in preventative maintenance on bridges in the state highway system.
• Set up traffic control devices and manage work-zone safety.
• Operate vehicles and equipment to transport materials and crew to sites.
