Responsibilities

• Operates power-driven drawbridges in compliance with Coast Guard regulations and DOTD policies.
• Trains lower-level Bridge and Lock Operators on bridge operation and related duties.
• Maintains bridge logs, documents openings/closings, and communicates with vessel operators via marine radio.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks and visual inspections of bridges and related equipment.
• Documents marine and vehicular incidents and assists with emergency/disaster duties as needed.
