Job summary
WSP is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, Structural Engineer to join our New England Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team with offices in Boston, Worcester, Glastonbury, and Providence. The role blends fieldwork with leadership responsibilities on inspection projects.
The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience in bridge or related inspection, a degree in structural or civil engineering, and a demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff while delivering accurate plans and load
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- 5–7 years in bridge, tunnel or ancillary inspection or design or other infrastructure work.
- Engineer in Training Certification (PE Preferred).
- Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
- Interest in structures or transportation and desire to advance skills related to WSP projects.
- Ability to perform field work including heights and adverse weather, and travel is possible.
Responsibilities
- Lead bridge and infrastructure inspection projects.
- Serve as Team Leader on bridge, tunnel, and ancillary inspections.
- Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
- Assist in preparing bridge and tunnel load ratings.
- Assist with development of AutoCAD plans and sketches.
- Work with cross-functional project teams.
- Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
- Support project documentation, cost proposals, and scope of work.
