Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a Bridge Inspection Team Leader in Herndon, VA. The role focuses on leading bridge inspection teams, assessing structural conditions, and delivering NBIS-compliant reports. Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience, with a good faith range provided.

The position supports both EITs with inspection experience and licensed PEs with senior expertise. Immigration sponsorship is not available except TN visa cases.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required with structural emphasis.
• EIT/PE path desirable depending on experience.
• Experience with NBIS-related procedures and bridge inspection standards.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage project tasks across disciplines.
• Strong communication, client liaison, and report writing skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge inspection teams and coordinate project tasks.
• Develop hours estimates, scope, and schedules for discipline work.
• Provide project status updates to the Project Manager.
• Oversee sub-tasks and ensure QA/QC per PMP guidelines.
• Coordinate with clients, attend meetings, and propose solutions.
• Mentor design staff and manage sub-consultants.
• Prepare contract plans, specs, and estimates.
• Ensure on-time project completion within budget and quality.
