Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Leader in Pennsylvania to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team. This role offers growth opportunities as you advance toward team leadership while working on diverse inspection projects.

You will perform professional structural engineering work, assist in load ratings, develop AutoCAD/Microstation sketches, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with engineers, planners and scientists across multiple projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
NCBI and CBSI certifications must be current.
1–3 years of experience in bridge, tunnel, or related inspection/design work.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and practice.
Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel as required.

Responsibilities

Work with our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on a variety of inspection-related projects.
Assist as an Assistant Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel, and Ancillary Inspections.
Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
Assist in the preparation of Bridge & Tunnel Load Ratings.
Assist with the development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD/Microstation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work.
Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Assist in project research, fieldwork, and preliminary design calculations.
Prepare cost proposals and scope of work documents; maintain project docs.
