S.M.H. Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Bridge Carpenter Foreman – Lead Structural Forming & Civil Field Operations in Charleston, WV.

This full-time role leads carpentry crews on high-visibility bridge and civil projects, directing formwork and coordinating with the superintendent to ensure schedules and quality. Eligible candidates bring 5+ years of structural concrete formwork experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and a drive for leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in structural concrete formwork or heavy civil carpentry.
• Ability to read structural drawings and project specifications.
• Leadership experience preferred on civil infrastructure sites.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily field activities for carpentry crews constructing complex concrete forming systems.
• Review blueprints and site drawings to ensure accurate measurements and layout.
• Supervise installation of form ties, modular formwork, and wooden framing systems.
• Coordinate crew tasks with the Project Superintendent to maintain schedules.
• Mentor junior carpenters to ensure quality craftsmanship and safety compliance.
• Inspect finished formwork for structural integrity before pours.
