Job summary

A leading engineering firm is looking for a Bridge Engineering Department Manager in Kansas City. You will manage and grow a local structural design team while collaborating with a strong regional practice. Key responsibilities include leading design tasks, maintaining project scopes, and mentoring staff. The ideal candidate has over 15 years of structural engineering experience, particularly in bridge design, and holds a relevant degree and P.E. registration in Kansas and/or Missouri. Competitive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Structural Engineering, with an emphasis on bridges.
• P.E. registration in Kansas and/or Missouri, and ability to acquire in other states.
• Strong technical skills in bridge design, roadway, and KDOT/MoDOT design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and plan development tasks.
• Maintain project scope, design changes, budget, and schedule.
• Mentor and train staff and others performing similar work.
• Conduct independent QC/QA reviews and coordination.
• Visit clients to grow business and keep team informed.
