Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Bridge Engineer (mid–senior) to join its growing transportation and structures team in the Northeast. The role focuses on bridge, culvert, and structural design for state, municipal, and public-sector clients, with opportunities for project leadership and staff development.

Responsibilities include design, analyses, client coordination, and participation in business development, with pathway toward senior technical leadership and client-facing roles.

Qualifications

• PE license required or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• 5+ years of bridge, structural, or related engineering experience.
• Experience working on DOT, municipal, or other transportation infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, bridge design, and applicable codes and standards.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee bridge, culvert, and structural engineering design for transportation and public infrastructure projects.
• Prepare structural analyses, design calculations, plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and execute project tasks while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, state agencies, municipalities, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams throughout project development.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of project deliverables.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering studies, contract documents, and construction support documentation.
• Conduct or support bridge inspections, structural assessments, and field investigations as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and quality control reviews for engineering documents and deliverables.
• Participate in client meetings, project presentations, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Support proposal preparation, project pursuits, and business development initiatives.
• Mentor and assist junior engineers while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• For more experienced candidates, serve as a project lead, manage client relationships, oversee project budgets and schedules, and support staff development.
