Job summary

Jobot, a leading engineering services firm, is seeking an experienced Civil/Bridge Engineer to join a nationwide transportation practice based in Indiana. You will lead the design and delivery of complex bridge projects from concept through construction, coordinating with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering, 4+ years of bridge/transportation experience, and a PE or EIT with state registrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of bridge/transportation engineering experience.
  • Active PE license with ability to obtain additional state registrations as needed OR EIT.
  • Strong experience with bridge design and complex transportation projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large or multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory considerations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and public agencies.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and financial skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex bridge and transportation engineering projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop design alternatives considering technical requirements, constructability, permitting, community needs, and regulatory constraints.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate technical, financial, and project management requirements.
  • Work directly with clients, government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve complex issues and advance projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and other team members.
  • Collaborate with bridge design professionals across offices/states to share expertise and develop innovative solutions.
  • Help establish technical standards, guidelines, and best practices within the bridge practice.
  • Take an active role in project planning, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and overall project execution.

  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory considerations.
  • Proven ability to develop practical design solutions for complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with clients and public agencies.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and financial skills.
