Job summary

LaBella Associates is looking for a qualified Bridge Engineer to join their Richmond, VA office. This role includes leading analysis and design of local and state DOT bridge projects under the supervision of senior engineers. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and 7 to 10 years of experience.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of experience in bridge engineering.
• EIT Certificate preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months); PE License is a plus.
• Experience with VDOT and local government projects and software.

Responsibilities

• Leading analysis, design, and detailing local and state DOT bridge projects.
• Attend meetings and conferences as necessary.
• Report preparation, field reconnaissance, and inspection.

Skills

Strong communication and organization skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word & Excel)

Experience with MicroStation

Experience with OpenBridge Modeler

Experience with AutoCAD

Experience with MathCAD

Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with concentration in structural engineering) from an ABET Accredited College

• Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with concentration in structural engineering) from an ABET Accredited College
• 7 to 10 years of experience
• Preferably have their EIT Certificate (or the ability to obtain within 12 months) - PE License is a plus
• Experience with MicroStation, OpenBridge Modeler, AASHTOware, AutoCAD, and MathCAD is a plus
• Experience with VDOT and local government projects and their design software is a plus
• Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word & Excel
• Desire to work in a team environment
